The button beeps when pressed but does nothing else that I can tell. Owners's manual comes up empty, but I may be not looking in right place. The car itself does not contain any driver's area control to pop the trunk, but the Mazda keyfob does - see the picture. You have to press and hold the trunk release button for a couple of seconds and then the trunk pops open by itself. JR. The 4 Door Sedan has a trunk release button that pops open the trunk.Always gotta remember to lock the door after closing the trunk.
